Couchsurfing

Have you ever had any experience in CouchSurfing? Is it dangerous? Or it's the right way to find friends and make vacations not so expensive? What troubles does it hide?

Couchsurfing is much more exciting, than dangerous. The main difficulties are places to stay and timing. R U planning 2 visit foreign countries or R U planning to meet a foreigner here?

I think of an opportunity to exchange dwelling places. Someone is going to visit my town and to live in my apartment. And so I am at the same time at his place. No costs for an inn. Local colour and way of life... You became a local. You can live another life for 2 weeks and to be someone else. Yes, it's exciting a lot!
But is there any shade of disappointment ?
And if your partner turns out a very negligent person or just swindler...
Can we trust a stranger?

Yes. Those people you can trust. They have been tested and have their permission to visit other countries. Don't worry. Everything is gonna be cool. I'm planning to invite someone myself. Poor thing, I don't have much time

Read CS FAQ carefully. That's not how it works. People do not exchange homes, they just use someone's couch or guest room while the host is home. And it's safe to let someone in if you're attentive enough & read the surfer's profile, references & request thoroughly. Besides there's a verification system. And vouching. But still, it's all built on trust.
